OUR MISSIon
IBO’s mission is to provide a collective, non-partisan business voice in support of the investments, jobs, innovations, revenues and wellness benefits sustained through the preservation of Idaho’s outdoors and public lands.
In Idaho, about 63% of the land is public, which makes our state one of the largest public lands holders in the nation. As outdoor amenities become both increasingly desirable for quality of life and increasingly scarce elsewhere, IBO sees tremendous value in protecting our outdoor assets.
Advocacy
We advocate for local, regional, and state efforts that work to preserve Idaho’s habitat, waters, and access to outdoors, and we support policies that protect and sustain our public lands and outdoors.
Community engagement
Our programs give the community opportunities to get involved in building a regenerative and sustainable future for generations to come.
Research
Our organization advocates, educates, and supports research and policy to secure the business advantage Idaho’s outdoors and public lands represent.
Education
In addition to our programs that educate the community, our newsletter keeps our supporters and business members up to date on important issues regarding our public lands.
Our Work
Adopt-The-Greenbelt
As part of the City of Boise’s Adopt-The-Greenbelt program, IBO engages its business members and community in creating a cleaner and brighter future for our public lands.
Adopt-a-pollinator
As part of our Adopt-a-Pollinator garden project, our partners help us bring students outside to learn about the importance of pollinators, water quality, and access to open spaces.
Learn over lunch
Learn Over Lunch is a free educational series for our business members and supporters, where participants have the opportunity to engage with current conversations regarding our public lands.
